Incorporate E-Cat in Nuclear Power Plants: Rossi

energy @ 3:31 pm

Since rumours are pouring our more feverishly as we are but a month away from the launch of Andrea Rossi’s Energy Catalyzer, news from Rossi himself is being passed down to the media too. In his latest statement, Rossi capitulates that his Low Energy Nuclear Reaction device, the E-Cat as it is commonly known should be included into existing nuclear power plants.

Of course this has alarmed some environmentalists who question the stability of the device there are no affirmative results that gives the E-Catalyzer the all-clear just yet.

Guess we will have to wait patiently for October 10th to roll around before we can speculate on the findings…

  1. Rick Gresham says:

One point anti-nuke activists should be aware of, if a fission reactor goes out of control, it melts down – the “China Syndrome” or blows plutonium-laced steam out the roof. As I understand it, if Rossi’s e-cat goes out of control, it melts the sidewall of the reactor, a gram or two of hydrogen is vented and the reaction is quenched. It can’t runaway. There’s nothing radioactive in the residue. Rossi has stated he’s witnessed many explosions when he lost control an e-cat reaction. Yet he still lives.

  2. Brad Arnold says:

To be fair, Rossi might have implied that, but what he seemed to mean is that the E-Cat ought to be incorporated into existing steam turbine electricity production that exist in coal, natural gas, and nuclear plants. I was going around saying that the introduction of the E-Cat to the market would be highly disruptive, but the latest idea of incorporating the E-Cat into existing energy infrastructure would solve that in the near term.

Of course, the E-Cat would first have to be commercialized (i.e. successfully introduce the E-Cat to the market) before companies would want to license the LENR Ni-H way over unity Rossi “Italian sauce.” Once companies see the reality of LENR, they will want to incorporate it into their products, and we will see multiple engineering teams designing all sorts of applications.

By the way, I don’t think Rossi meant the cores of those nuclear reactors ought not be mothballed.

  3. John De Herrera says:

A simple application of the e-Cat would be direct heating of water. Hot water heaters are used in homes, apartments, industry, hospitals, etc. Attaching a steam turbine to the e-Cat could generate electricity for a home or commercial building. Something like a truck, train, ship, etc. would be an ideal application of a turbine where the vehicle is away from the nearest utility. The e-Cat could remove the need to carry a large supply of fuel for a very hungry engine. Eventually, the e-Cat could supply energy for everything that needs energy, including aircraft and spacecraft!

It makes some sense. The power companies will still be expected to produce power for a few years, although hopefully this technology spreads to homes and especially cars quickly.

I would think building more e-cats within existing structures like nuclear plants and coal plants are superior to spending another red cent on other green technologies or building another nuclear plant.

It is amazing! Despite this news China has 25 nuclear power plants currently under construction. This is because the mainstream media does not see this as a reality or at least its implications.

With an e-cat in your car you could literally fill your car up when you purchase your vehicle and then never attach another wire or pump gas into it ever again. A lifetime worth of fuel on board.
Multiply that X 600 million cars/trucks on the road now. All boiling water for fuel.

So can the media not see what the significance is?

Nickel is the fifth most common element on the planet, and the supply of it seems inexhaustible for hundreds of years.

I think the point Rossi is making by suggesting we build them in existing power plants is that E-CATS should be THE ONLY method of making electricity in existence.

  5. Paul says:

Yes, E-Cat doesn’t use radioactive materials (only hydrogen gas and nickel powder), doesn’t produce radiations outside it, and doesn’t leave radioactive waste in any case.
It is ideal for green and secure energy. And moreover the produced energy is really cheap.
And surely it can be used on power plants keeping away nuclear reactors, and coal or oil burners, and saving the actual turbines and electricity generators.

The “only” thing is that it is necessary that the 1MW plant has to be tested as real, on the end of October…
Rossi is completely sure that everything will be OK.

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE
A new era of clean safe energy has begun. Thanks to all the hard working and dedicated chemists and physicists who continued to investigate the mysteries of Cold Fusion when they were ridiculed and ostracized by the establishment physicists and Skeptics. The world is desperate for abundant green energy to fuel our industries and transportation. Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi are now ready to demonstrate their Energy Catalyzer (e-Cat), nickel-hydrogen reactor capable of producing thermal energy. Thanks to all the scientists who continued the investigation of Cold Fusion.

  7. John De Herrera says:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE
In mid October there will be an announcement and demonstration of the Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi Energy Catalyzer (e-Cat), nickel-hydrogen reactor capable of producing thermal energy. The e-Cat is an advanced model of the ‘Cold Fusion’ reactor introduced by Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann in 1989. At the e-Cat demonstration, input and output measurements will be made by top world class scientists to confirm that the Rossi Energy Catalyzer is producing substantial amounts of energy and that a new era of clean safe energy has begun.
